Aurora is Avishai Cohen's debut album on the EMI/Blue Note label, and it has earned Avishai widespread praise and legions of new fans all over Europe. The project features vocals as well as roots music, interwoven with Avishai Cohen's mesmerizing jazz stylings and arrangements.
A quintet of virtuosi, Shai Maestro/piano, Karen Malka/voice, Amos Hoffman/oud, Itamar Doari/percussion and Avishai Cohen on acoustic and electric basses & vocals creates a common and exquisite musical language which flows from the moving multi-lingual, multicultural song repertoire.
The North American release of Aurora will be timed to offer maximum label support to the October 2010 concert tour.
