Daniel Cainer is a multi-award winning songwriter, performer and broadcaster based in London. He is a ‘master storyteller,’ weaving songs with intricate plots and callbacks about our families and our heritage. He is charming, funny, accessible, very musical and the appeal of his material crosses generations and dominations.
Feuding Yiddish tailors, lost and found love, naughty shenanigans at the laundromat, a rabbi with a coke-habit? All these and more are the subjects of Cainer’s lovingly detailed shaggy-dog storytelling. Cainer performs in theatres, JCCs and temples. In fact, anyone that will have him. Most recently at The Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago, The SoHO Playhouse in NYC plus St James Theatre and Crazy Coqs in London to name but a few.
Cainer has had a parallel career of writing music for radio and TV in the UK for all the major networks. His music has launched cars and washing machines. He appeared regularly on TV and radio as a writer and performer of specially commissioned topical songs. He currently does the same on occasion for Talk Radio in the UK. HIs more contemplative material is performed by cantors in many Temples across the United States and he has just completed his first commission for a liturgical setting.
