Biography
Hadar Maoz is a multi-talented and inspiring performer, singer, musician, and composer who electrifies audiences with her captivating musical journey into the rich world of Persian, Bukharian, and Jewish Central Asian music and singing. Known for her unique ability to fuse ancient traditions with contemporary sounds, Hadar brings a fresh and vibrant expression to her music, blending the deep roots of Central Asian heritage with modern grooves, blues, and electronic elements.
Currently based in Israel, Hadar’s cultural roots stretch back over 2,500 years, deeply intertwined with the traditions of Persian and Bukharian Jewish communities in Central Asia. From a young age, she was immersed in the sacred art of devotional singing, drumming, and playing, all of which were passed down through generations in her musician family. Her music is profoundly influenced by ancient oriental scales and styles.

Hadar is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, proficient in a variety of traditional Persian and Bukharian instruments, including the tar, saz, dayereh, oud, and goblet drum. She studied these instruments under the guidance of her grandmothers and family and Israel’s leading teachers and masters. Alongside her traditional training, Hadar pursued Western music studies, expanding her abilities to include bass, acoustic, and electric guitar, as well as music arrangement and production. Her unique style is also complemented by her oriental dance, which draws from the dance traditions of Central and Eastern Asia.
