The Ultimate Yiddish Singalong with Daniella Rabbani
On November 6 - the morning after election day, a packed auditorium at the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly, NJ was united in joyful nostalgia. The audience was swept away absorbed in a heartwarming community celebration of a cherished cultural treasure, singing along and dancing to some of the most popular Yiddish songs of all time. On stage was Yiddish theater star, Yiddish songstress Daniella Rabbani and Maestro Zalmen Mlotek, Artistic Director of the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, the concert's musical director. They were joined by a sextet of leading instrumentalists of New York's bustling Jewish music scene: D Zisl Slepovich on Woodwinds, Jake Shulman Ment on violin, Jordan Hirsch on trumpet, Brian Glassman on bass, Matt Temkin on drums, and the beloved Greek-Israeli guitarist/vocalist Avram Pengas.
